Better Late than Never

well.....just "found" this thread......figured I should introduce myself.

I'm Bryan (aka: Cobra Jones), from Nashville, TN.........

My first bike was a Yamaha Midnight Virago......that lasted about a month.....I started hanging out at Combat Hogs in Jacksonville, NC just off USMC base Camp Geiger.......Mud (the owner) built me a 1971 Shovel and let me finance it with him without going through the bank......all kick, no electric start (got thrown over the bars a few times while trying to look cool kicking her off)......I rode the shovel for a while.............it got to the point where the bike was spending more time in the shop than on the road so I got in touch with Mud and got it back to him. I bought a custom 1000cc 4spd Sportster (custom tank, air cleaner, carb, cam, pipes, seat, bars, mini-windshield, etc.)......rode it for a couple of years, then got divorced and had to sell.........

I've been out of riding for about 10 years, then my best friend bought a 1300 Honda VTX (I know, I know)......he's hiding it from his soon-to-be ex-wife at my house and gave me the keys to ride when I wish.......been on it almost daily.......(he's put about 300 miles on it, I've put over 700 as of yesterday in about a month)......well, my beautiful, loving wife.......who saw how much joy riding gave me.......gave me permission to buy a bike

I'm going this Saturday (May 10) to pick up a new (to me) '95 1200 sportster (pic below)........

I've been reading and posting here for around a week........exceptional words, ideas, and thoughts........everyone seems to be informed and the respect for each other on here is outstanding.......

I look forward to reading and checking in daily !

CJ

Now it's time for pics!!!

I wish I was back at Campbell and living in the Clarksville area. A long riding season, some great back country to cruise in, nice standard of living, and the 101st is a great unit to be in. TN is an absolutely beautiful state.
