I'm not only new to this forum, but I am also Harley Davidson. I havebeen riding street bikes for 22 years now. Last May I was riding my BMW R1200GS on a back road not far from my home when a truck crossed the yellow line, and came at me head on in a 90 degee corner. My BMW was totaled, and was on the couch for two months. In July I got my first Harley, an 07 Street Bob. After 5000mi. of riding, It's a keeper.

Wow, some good fortune to be able to get back on a bike after a get-off like that. Why not a BMW again? The GS is a nice ride. So is a street Bob but a radically different ride from a GS.

Loved my GS and I'll get another one someday. Being only 5'5" I had a hard time riding a tall bike after my accident. Grade three separation in my left shoulder.
