A friend of mine and I are considering attending
Pike's Peak International Hill Climb on June 28th. All sorts of damn fools race UP the side of the mountain (motorcycles, semis, and cars with over 900 hp).
We have never been there. Is this a well attended event in Colorado? Will we have trouble getting a good 'seat'?
From reading the web site, I guess we have to get there pretty early and then they close the mountain for the day until the racing is over. So once we are up there we stay there.
Has anyone here ever attended the race?
It is a 15 and 1/2 hour drive (952 miles) from where we live in Minnesota, and my friend doesn't want to ride b!tch on my bike that whole way. We were thinking that is a lot of driving for a race but it would a fun road trip.
Anyone here going this year or have a convincing reason why we shouldn't?
