Question Utah Dealers -Feedback Request

Hi Y'all,

I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback regarding your dealings with the Salt Lake / Orem area dealers. I'm in the market for a new ride and would appreciate any help on the subject. Specifically, I'm looking at Harley of Salt Lake, Sandy, and Orem.

Thanks!

I had a good experience dealing with Harley of Timpanogos for my new bike. Very helpful staff that doesn't make you feel like they are doing you favors. Happy Riding!

I ordered my 2008 FLHTC from South Salt Lake HD. Scott, the salesman was very informative and easy to work with. The parts department was also very pleasant. The only problem was when I ordered it I was given a 6 week lead time, but it increased to 10 because of the HD paint policy. (I ordered a two tone and the sequence of this scheme at the plant brought it back a month.)

If you get yours, let me know and we'll go for a ride!

Call Mark at Harley Davidson of Salt Lake. He's been around forever, knows his stuff, and doesn't act like the typical sales guy. I've bought two bikes from him. He was even patient with me when I pre-ordered my first Harley, and called him (what seemed like) every couple of days to check on it. With my current bike, I needed a specific color, and model. Nobody in the state had one. He found one in another state, and did a dealer swap for me. Great service. Can't go wrong with him.

I had good luck at Timp HD in Lindon. I rode a VRSC before I bought my FatBob from them and the people at Timp treated me fairly. I can't say the same for the folks at the SLC Harley in Sandy.

Thumbs down My 2 cents about Salt Lake Harley

I know this is an old thread, but had to put my 2 cents worth in.

I've not been to Timpanogos Harley in Lindon, but I've made many stops at 2 of the 3 Harley of Salt Lake stores.

I must say, I'm not impressed. EVERYONE I've dealt with there from the sales staff, to parts, and service have acted like they are some elite bunch of snobs.

I spent 30 minutes looking at bikes intently, and never had a sales person come even say "hi". Only when I approached a sales person did I get answers. An the store was certainly not busy, as he was chatting up the young blondie behind on of the counters.

The service guy seemed put out when I asked to have him print the service records for the RK I just bought. The parts guy was rude when I asked about the status of my online order for $160 worth of manuals.

I'll be checking out Timp Harley this weekend. If my experience is better, I'll never visit any of the Salt Lake group of stores again.

This is my feelings regarding the dealings with the Salt Lake HD. The wife & I went looking for a new road king. I spent 45 minutes looking at bikes and never had a sales person even say boo & there was maybe 3 to 5 customers there. Finally I said f*#k this out loud & went and found the wife that had $500 to $600 of clothes & a leather coat & said lets go I even had her drop the clothes on the recpectionest counter. I told her $23000.00 dollers just left the bilding. Funny I think about it now and just I had great luck at Timpanogos HD in Lindon. T was graet help & every body makes you feel at home. Even if you are not buying right then. We go by 2 other Harley dealers to get to Timpanogos Harley.

I was in the new building on Tuesday and it is cool. I was traveling thru and the kids saw it from the Freeway and wanted to stop because it looked so different. Anyway they did not look like they had a lot of inventory and they had a Roadking with some black chrome treatment with a $34,000 price tag, seemed way over the top for price. We were in the store for about 30 minutes and never had one employee greet us or ask if we needed help. Not complaining because I did not need help but if I was serious about buying a bike that would be a red flag.

Sorry about reviving a sleeping thread but I gotta say that my experience, at least at the South Valley location, was much better. I only spent a couple minutes before a sales person came to talk to me. Both Service and Parts have been helpful with my questions.

Timpanogos HD is very nice. Certainly worth stopping to see. But, I haven't bought from them so I can't comment on that.
