I acquired this bike over a year ago, looks to be certainly worth the light restoration it would take to make this a very nice vintage ride. I have decided that I don't have the room, time, or interest. Tin work is nice, not damaged. Black paint looks nice. Tank very nice with OEM HD wing stencils and a hand painted air brush mural on top very nicely done. Chrome OEM tach and speedo(shows 12,500 mi, not warranted, exempt) both working with back lights and hi-beam also working. OEM buckhorn bars. Nice clear markings on hand controls. All OEM signal lights (Yankee) operate fine. Hi/low beam headlight fine, some chrome peeling on headlight visor. Tail light/brake light good, kill switch good. Horn is missing but horn button sends power to harness where horn mounts. Dual disc front, single disc rear. Solo seat is newer (OEM 2 up seat and buddy pegs also included and go along with bike) Chrome on rims show some pitting/peeling. Chain and sprockets look to be newer (rear sprocket chrome) Iron head engine is 1000cc electric start only, modern generator (with built in regulator). This Sportster has not been licensed or ridden since '97. It starts very easily. Original OEM carb idled down nice. Drag pipes (with removable baffles) have nice sound, but is quieter than most with the baffles. I have ridden approx. 50 miles. Front cylinder smokes and bleeds down (drips oil out of front pipe) when parked. Good power. Transmission shifts good. Good clutch. Rides straight and handles good, front brake worked last summer, now needs to be bled. Bike is very complete (still has AMF #1 ignition cover) I do not know the history of the bike. With some TLC and not much more investment this would make a very nice vintage Harley. Has clear/clean title with matching numbers on engine and frame. Cash payment in person when you pick it up. This bike has been off the street for 12 years, expect to haul or trailer it home. PM me with your email address for more photos / info. There aren't many of these left that haven't been chopped. $3500.
