Ride Like a Pro Course

Has anyone taken the Ride Like a Pro course?

I will be taking it the end of this month in North Carolina- they just started having classes in NC recently.

He is also sending me one of the new DVDs

So has anyone taken the course or used the DVD's?

I took the MSF Basic Course last weekend and have almost 42,000 miles on my Ultra which I got in 2006

Any input would be appreciated

THANKS

Took it about a month ago in Tampa with Motorman just watching that group ride was a lesson upon itself!

I learned quite a bit and the key thing is to be practicing after the course. I also bought the DVD. The only complaint I have was with the Tampa course we had a lot of riders and perhaps we sat a bit much more than if we were a smaller group.

oh also you might want to get some heater hose to cover your engine guard etc just in case you drop the bike. We had one guy that spent a lot of time picking his bike up...

Thanks for the info.

The one in NC is limited to 6 students per class

Have a good one and ride safe

I have the video Ride Like a Pro III. I think it is worthwhile. I saw parts of RLP IV and from what I saw it is almost a rehash of III.

Ditto the heater hose suggestion. Seeing your own, personal ULTRA lying on its side is heartbreaking.

Ride Like a Pro NC

I had the fortunate experience of taking the Ride Like a Pro NC course on July 26th in Greensboro, NC. It is based on Jerry "Motorman" Ride Like a Pro DVD's. The course was great. I learned alot of great skills and gained alot of confidence on my heavy bike.

At the beginning I was nervous about dropping it in the course, by the end I felt confident in all the exercises.

I highly recommend the course if you ride!

Here is my testimonial as it appears on the Ride Like a Pro NC website:

"I had been looking at the Ride Like a Pro DVD online and was planning on ordering it after I took the MSF Basic Course. One of the MSF instructors brought in an article from RoadRUNNER Motorcycle Touring and Travel Magazine (July/August 08 issue) and it mentioned that there was a Ride Like a Pro course in NC. I went to the website and signed up that same day! J.D. has been great to work with. He sent me a copy of Ride Like a Pro V and I watched it several times before attending the class. When I arrived in the class I was still pretty nervous about dropping my Ultra. After just a short time I became much more comfortable with the bike. I noticed a marked improvement in my riding both during the class and afterwards on the way home. I even had to deal with a non-functioning shifter on the way home and using head and eyes technique I was able to get navigate the curvy road without the benefit of downshifting and get to a safe place to pull off the road. I highly recommend the course for anyone who rides!! Big THANKS to the J.D. and his Team at Ride Like a Pro NC! Ride Safe" –

** On an added note - once I got the shifter back working I took it to Wolf Creek HD in Reidsville and they got it back on the correct way without me having to wait! **

Ride Safe
