A couple of other safety tips

We have all pulled under an overpass to wait out the rain. If you do this park your bike, turn on the flashers, and then climb up as high off the road as you can. It is hard to see bikes on the side of the road in a storm. Let them hit the bike not you.

On the ultra glide ride with the spot lights on and your lights on low beam. When you flash your brights this shuts off the spots. A couple of flashes really let people know you are there at an intersection when you are not sure they see you.

It's funny I use your second tip from time to time and I had a lady pull over for me one day thinking I was a cop.
