Ultra owners...caution

Check your swingarm at the axles...seems as thought there is inordinate number of swingarms cracking/breaking...

I was at my local indy the other day when an Ultra came in on a trailer with a broken swingarm caused a locked up rear wheel...having seen this before and wishing to be ahead of the curve they checked a few resources to put a couple in stock (either new or used)...seems they aren't readily available due to several failures, (the 2nd seen at this indy) the dealers in the area of course have seen no such pattern...

Is this just on the ultras, or all the FL frames? Any range of years this applies to?
Oh, and thanks for the heads up.

I believe the problem exists prior to the 1" axle swingarms, prior to 2002 if I remember correctly.

Yeah I have been keeping an eye on this subject and it is the older style swingarms that are cracking. I think its Sta-Bo that has a kit to swap out your old style to the new style.

I always thought that the HD Ultras's were like the Sportsters (Top Heavy)of the Cruisers, especially the Twinks?

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone......

I still am happy, mostly with my evo....

The swingarm on the later models (2002 and up? ) is quite strong compared to the prior ones. As mentioned, it was the earlier ones that would break.
