Some legislators are trying to repeal the helmet law here in Tennessee. Interesting reading to say the least.

I am a "member at large" and have been for about a decade. The media and opponents to making the helmet law pro choice fail to recognize that when a state has increase in fatalities to ALSO QUOTE the change in number of riders!

Also, they fail to weed out the unlicensed riders because those nuts love when a law gets changed, that means they can be more careless and not give Johnny Law PC to stop them.

There is a false sense of safety wearing the helmet, like that one politician said, it does not prevent all the other injuries. I know that when I go from a restricted state to pro choice and take the lid off, I feel a little more cautious because now my brain knows what the rest of me already knew - it will hurt to fall off.

Finally, why does the media not focus on the jerks that caused the crashes with pulling out, improper lane changes, and the like? At my last job I overheard a couple of coworkers talking about one guy that had a truck pull out in front of his bike and he broke both wrists in the impact. They used the situation to try to point out how dangerous bikes are. I pointed out that it was the truck that was dangerous and that they should ban trucks because I am sure the biker would not have broken his wrists without it.

I heard an AMA/TDOT commercial on the radio aimed at making cagers realize they are in loaded weapons and even with a helmet we can be killed due to their lack of attention.
