High Side Crash Info

This was a good read and gave some valuable insight into a high side crash...

Another vote for "wear your protective gear at all times." Helmet included.

Wow

Glad it was not me doing that slide. I sort of understand most of the technical riding part of the write up; but a but more reader friendly writing may have made it easier to understand. Seems like this is one where seeing a video of the bike reactions might help.

Now tell me: is this action-reaction more common on a track than the open road?

My wreck last summer was the result of a "highside" reaction...unfortunately I was sliding on purpose attempting to lay the bike down when the rear wheel caught traction and tossed my wife and I quite unceremoniously to the pavement. Anytime you lock the rear wheel and in hopefully infrequent occasions of locking the front wheel you chance a "highside" occurrence...

If you lock up the rear tire, keep it locked until you stop. Otherwise, well, you know what happens. Not pretty
