polishing...........

Any suggestions for a good metal polish, my old sporty had some non-chrome metals, but even they were already polished and just needed to be freshened up to keep it shining nearly like chrome, I kind of like the the look of the flht as is and don't really want to spend the money for the chrome kit ( i would rather spend it on an oil cooler and floating rotors, you know......riding stuff), but I would appreciate any inputs on opinions for polishing the motor, thanks in advance.

Stew,
I've used "Simichrome Polish" for about 25 years on both chromed and aluminum parts on Harley's. My "66 Electra Glide had a cast aluminum shroud for the main headlight. With a piece of 100% cotton terry towel and the polish it looked beautiful, was asked many times if it was chromed. I've tried a few others over the years but the price is right for this product, it cleans boot rubber, road tar, paint, rust, corrosion/oxidation off of shiny parts with the minimum of effort and clean up. It's sold at most auto parts and Harley dealers. It comes in a yellow and red box in a lead tube 1.76 oz. per tube and a tube last me about a year. For 5 bucks I think it's the best....IMHO
