Rusting of the chrome

Something that makes no sense. I left my bike out in the rain on the driveway for a week, and the chrome was fine. Some water spots, but fine.

I then park it up on the pad next to the house, and put the cover over it. When I went to uncover it a couple of days later, the chrome on one side was rusting away, while the other side is fine. It is the side that faces the house.

The only thing I can think of it that the sun hits the left side and dries the bike out, while the right side (against the house) doesn't dry as fast....

Regardless, I have given up on trying to keep after it. I will clean it, and the next day it's back.

Any ideas?

There's some info here that may help:

http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/mo...t-methods.html

In the past I've used a product called "Poorboys" to seal chrome wheels on a couple of Mustangs I had. Works great.

I haven't done anything to the chrome on my bike yet other than keep it cleaned off. I mostly use window cleaner or alcohol.
