How to clean wrinkle finish

I was wondering if anybody has a technique to clean wrinkle finish. I have aluminum valve covers from the factory on my 1200N and to clean I use polish.. Problem is when I do this if I get any of the polish on the wrinkle finish heads it doesn't come off. It leaves a white powderish mark that won't even come off with a toothbrush and soap or water or anything! Is there a way!? Any suggestions would be appreciated.. Thanks

I'm not sure if it will fix your problem but i use S100 Engine Brightener on the wrinkle black parts of my engine and it brings back the black real well.

S-100 Engine brightner will work. It's the only S-100 product I will use as the S-100 cleaners are known to be harsh. I prefer Pig Spit however. Yes Google it...Pig Spit. Works on all wrinkle finishes. I use it on dash brake calipers etc.
