Anybody use "Blue Job" chrome polish? Beware!
I used this stuff on my aftermarket pipes to get rid of gold and blue heat discoloration, which is what it's supposed to be used for, and they looked great - until they heated up again - and then they looked terrible, much worse than before. Eventually had to replace the pipes. Anybody else had this problem?

Was all the residue off before the pipes got hot again? I've never used it personally...

I used it on a pipe a guy gave me that was pretty seriously gold and blue. Took alot of hard rubbing but I been practicing that since I was eleven...
Anyhow, did an awesome job, the pipe started out as a total loss and ended up so close to unnoticable, I was the only one who could even tell where the discolaration was. As far asI know, that pipe is still on that bike and still looks great. You must have left some residue on there or ???

I've used that stuff and it does the job.
Great product, lots of elbow grease is required.
As for the colors coming back worse than before, Man sounds like a major lean condition. IMHO.
But I have not had that problem at all.

Well, thanks for all of the replies. I guess I must have screwed up someplace. I did get all of the residue off though. And also, the pipes had started getting discolored in other places where I used it and there was no discoloration there before.
Anyway, thanks again and y'all ride safe.

They're Milwaukee Twins brand pipes. I don't know what their rep is. Any opinions? All info appreciated.
Also, is there such a thing as a good chrome shop that will strip and rechrome this set of used pipes? I really like the way they look/sound.
Thanks,
John

I just used Blue-Job on my pipes. I have to say that I expected more that 14 grams after paying $12 on-line. Almost immediately upon putting it on my *very* blue pipes, I was amazed at the shine - I mean, wow; it really worked great!...for about 3 seconds. Then, right before my eyes, a lighter blue color returned. It was like polishing copper and having it tarnish immediately again. I'm going to try it again tomorrow...with the addition of some rapidly applied regular chrome polish to 'seal' in the shine and keep it from tarnishing again. I'm not sure if it is the humidity here in south MS or maybe I should have mixed a thicker paste (mine was a bit runny). Thoughts?

milwaukee twin is code for chinese junk. re-chroming would cost more than replacements.

I'm not really concerned about the cost of rechroming. If you know of a shop that will do a really good rechrome job on used pipes, please post their name and/or phone number. None of the Denver area chrome shops will do it.
Thanks,
John

I recently used it, and mine was probably too runny, too. I noticed that the chrome is now a bit dull in the areas where I used it. For the price, not overly impressed.
With that said, the insta-tarnish you experienced was probably the result of the questionable (read: slimy) South Mississippi water used with the paste.
