Wax Removal from Black Textured Engine

I have a 07 Dyna Low Rider and the engine is painted flat black textured. I was waxing some of the chrome parts and accidently got paste wax on the engine. I tried to get the wax off with warm water and soap and although that took some of the wax off you can still see the wax on the flat black. Any suggestions on how to get wax off textured paint?

I just spray the area with S100 Engine Brightener (PigSpit works well too), everything is black again - no wax marks are visible.

I've used Extreme Simple Green to remove oil from my bike's black powder coat with good results. I don't know whether it would work equally well with wax, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I buy the stuff at my local Home Depot.

Detailers use a toothbrush to gently brush away wax from black things like window mouldings and such.

Let it dry real good first.

I used the S100 Engine Brightener, and it worked great!
