How To Remove "Bullet-Hole" Decals?

I put some "Bullet-Hole" vinyl type decals on my paint about seven years ago that I want to remove. These decals seem to be on there really tight now.

What is the best way to remove these decals without hurting the paint?

Thank you.

springer- will become famous soon enough
I use Ronsonol lighter fluid. Test it on the paint under the seat first but it should not hurt anything. The paint under those stickers might be a different color after all the years of being blocked from the sun.

Goof Off should work...also Advanced Auto Parts sells a product for removing old bumper stickers. Be sure and not to get any chemical on leather and plastic parts.

Springer has a good point about the paint fading, and why are they there in the first place? Some people put em on to cover stuff.......

Hopefully they are there for decoration only.

Solvents will almost definitely kill the clear coat, and may streak the paint.. be especially careful with goof-off..it is very potent on painted surfaces

A good (read:safer) alternative is a hair dryer to soften the sticker and glue. Carefully work it off with your fingernails and/or a plastic putty knife.
Remaining glue residue can generally be cleaned off, with no harmful effects, using WD-40 and a bit of elbow grease.

I also second the lighter fluid technique.

I use goof-off plenty on clearcoat, and have never had any issues. I am a painter after all, I wouldn't give bad advice...

It is NOT for use on plastic parts, though, and if it does effect your clearcoat...you ain't got good clear on the bike!

I prefer the other remover I mentioned cuz it comes in a small spray can form, though...

Also, degreaser works good, too - just not quite as fast...

No disrespect intended kustom...Hope you'll forgive me.

One of our divisions is a commercial cleaning company. We also use many solvents and cleaners and have seen goof-off wreck many a good surface/finish in untrained hands..

I guess the big issue is not whether it'll work..(it definitely will..) ... just who is using it.
No offense to ez either...just caution offered..

Anyway...No harm intended..hope none taken.... just offering my 2 cents from my part of the world.

Or a low psi power washer. It took mine off every time I washed my scoot.

I put several on my bike about 8 years ago to cover paint chips. If I took them off now I'd probably peel off half the paint.
