I use Meguires... You can get it all Wal-Mart, they have a whole line of motorcycle products. They are great

the best thing I have found for black harley paint is 3m handglaze that will for sure get your water spots of speaking from a painter point of veiw the meguiars is a very good product but spots have to be cleaned off not waxed over in saing that understand that wax is a protectant not a cleaner the handglaze is meguiars does have a show glaze product that is close to 3m's all you with the black harley paint try it as the bottle say and watch most of those fine scratches go away you know the ones that make you sick on a bright sunny day I am in no way advertising any of these products and you need to be sure to use as the bottle says

Meguiar's !!

Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0 is the new version and it's even better!
Then clean with Meguiar's #135 synthetic quick detailer, made for the tech wax.
Unbelievable deep shine.

I found the #135 at BikeDepot.com, and the tech wax 2.0 at Amazon.

Does anyone use Zaino? You can probably google it if you don't know what I'm talking about.... it is unbelievably effective. A shine so perfect that you can use your paint job as a mirror, and it lasts forever..... ride in rain, heat, storm, etc for months and it will still look like you just applied it, long after other waxes have worn off and needed reapplication.

Zaino is good stuff.

One of the reviewers at Amazon claimed to be a professional detailer
and used it exclusively. After using Meguires NXT 2.0 he said he was
going to switch to Meguires, not because it was any better, just cost
less for what he felt were equal results.

The clear coat polish followed up with thier quick detailing spray from time to time is as good as it gets!

Bike wax........

Like most have mentioned - Meguiars all the way! There is an EXCELLENT thread in here about waxing bikes: http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/mo...-me-crazy.html. I use this link as my "bible" .
What I have found best is:
1) Meguiars Scratch X, followed by
2) Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish, followed by
3) Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax Paste

In between waxes, I will use the Meguiars Quick Detailer. This is the system I swear by. I won't use anything else...........

Now chrome, well, that's a whole different story.......

I use Meguiars for all my buffing and polishing compounds - love their products! I like the gold class for wax...paste or liquid

Meguiars High Tech Yellow wax........

Safecut for swirls and scratches....

3-M Hand Glaze for that award winning shine....

Meguiars quick detailer to remove wax.....I don't wipe anything "ever" dry, not even wax when I remove it..

Not quite as easy to work with as some of the others but by far the best. Even professional detailers ask me how I got the bike to shine as great as it does. When it's parked in the sunlight, the Jake & Elwood Blue color really looks incredible with the Zaino on it.

As I said earlier..Meguiars Gold. Something I forgot to say that I learned a long time ago. When you are washing your bike...."you will know when the paint or the chrome is absolutely clean because the sponge or pad will SQUEAK". (It won't squeak until clean)

2 coats of Meguiar's Gold. First coat...thoroughly dry and buffed to a high shine. Follow with second coat, same way..final buffing/polish with the super soft cloth with lessening amount of pressure. Zero streaks or swirls.

A secret I think is to ...take your time...and enjoy the results.

Not a lot you can do for your bike that doesn't cost money....a good wash, detailing, and wax/polish is one thing that doesn't cost much.

Well I went to check out all the Meguiar's stuff at the local Wally World. All they carry is Gold wax (paste or liquid) Hot Tire stuff and some wash.

So I bought the Gold paste and haven't noticed a difference (it was plenty shiny to start).

But I did notice a small chip in the paint on the rear fender and a slight dent in the tank that weren't there before I took in to a local Indy for new wheels and handle bars.

I guess polishing you bike can be a good thing or a bad thing if you really pay attention while you are polishing.

Oh well, I need to stop watching Monk and figure 3 blems are okay on a 11 year old bike.

Now I am off to buff off the second coat of Gold and see it if I can tell any difference.

I just use the Z2 or Z5 followed up with the Z6 gloss enhancer, stuff wipes right off. Couldn't be easier!
