Question Shiny Tires

What can I use on the side walls to shine them up? I don't think I'll stay upright very long using Armor-All.

I have used Mr Clean magic erasers with good luck. It doesn't shine them but gets them clean and black. Thats about as far as I have ever gone cleaning my bike LOL. I normally ride everyday and clean it every two months.

Using Armor-all on the *sides* of your tires shouldn't be a problem. However, I use 3M Silicone Free tire dressing on my tires. Works great. Looks great.

I've always heard you shouldn't put anything on them as it would run down the sidewall on the tread area and could cause you bust yer butt in the rain.

But, I've read where others would put a dish liquid on a rag and wipe down the side wall. If it starts raining the soap is cut down so quickly it's hardly a threat.

I just clean mine when I wash the rest of my bike with the normal bike wash. If that doesn't quite do it and they still look a bit dirty after the bike is dry, I hit the side walls with windex on a sponge. That always makes them look new. I don't care about shiny on the tires, just clean and evenly black. Tires don't stay on my bike more then a little over a year anyway before I need new ones so they usually are replaced before they ever look real bad in the side walls. This year with all the rain [sic] low mileage may be the exception.

This stuff works great and does not make the tires slick. It does not make them shiny but it makes them look rich and brand new.

Has anyone ever heard or seen anything bad using Westley's Bleche-White tire cleaner? It's what I use when doing a whole bike wash.
Leaves them clean, evenly black, and never slick like (something I won't use) tire dressing might.

I've used it, it's great on whitewalls.
