Cleaning Clearview windshields

This is the Clearview info on final cleaning of their product:

"Once the screen is free of all bug guts and dirt, it is time do your final clean & treatment. This final treatment normally involves starting with a light wax or film coating on a clean screen to disperse the water and make the removal of bugs, dirt and debris easier for future cleanings. We recommend Novus #1 Polish available through Clearview Shields, Rain-X Original Auto Glass Treatment (clear appearance), Honda Line Spray Cleaner or even Pledge Furniture Polish. Any pre-treatment must be applied in moderation to avoid excess build up."

Question: Should HDs "Protect All" product be used on this windshield to good effect?

Thanks,
Lance

All I use is Novus #1 and it works great. I keep a little spray bottle with the bike & use it with each windshield cleaning. If need be, Novus #2 will remove light scratches.

I use Meguiers final inspection polish on mine. Been cleaning it for a few years now with great results.

Do these products make rain run off the shield like RainX would?

What PR3V said...I keep the small spray bottle and flannel cloth in my saddlebag. Have had mine over a year and have not needed the #2 yet...

Lemon Pledge works well for me. I used it years ago on a clear windshield that still looked new after 10 years. The Pledge wipes are very convenient for trips.

I've recently used a product call "PlastiX" by meguiars.

cleans up the windshields real nice.

it's basically a polycarbonate polish.
