Got my first safty recall notice today.

Well, I got a safty recall letter today on my WG. I guess there's a issue with the handle bars. It says the holes in the bars for all the internal wireing could start to crack. The dealer will replace the handle bars, and it says it should only take a couple hours. No big deal. This is the first I've heard about this. I plan on taking it in sometime within the next couple weeks.

So I guess this must be exclusive to the WG?

Handlebar Recall

I work at a harley dealership here in Iowa. The recall in on just about every 2006 and many of the 2007's. I would say get your bike in VERY SOON before riding season begins. Due to the fact the Bars will be backordered soon. They are doing wave shipments to dealers right now. Get you bike in to a local HD shop and they shold be able to get them VERY FAST. Install time is about 1.5- 2 base on the person who works on it. I would leave the bike at the shop then just wait because they will rush.

GET YOUR BIKE IN NOW AND NOT LATER!!- Lots of recall's open on 06 and 07 bikes on any model. Plus the strike- It will be a bad summer for HD.

Got My Wide Glide Done Last Week End, Took About 2 Hours. Mine Had A 1 Inch Crack Already Never Noticed It. Get Em In Quick This One Could Be Dangerous.

Just got it done.

I called my dealer an couple days after posting here, and it took some time. In fact, it was on the 19th (this month) that my dealer finally got the bars in. They did get a couple in within the last couple weeks, but they were either dented or scratched. I had not cracks starting in mine, and the entire thing took about 1.5 hrs. I had to wait for my bike because I have no means to transport it. The best part was, the weather was great for riding.

Not very happy with new part.

After the repair to my WG, I noticed that at all the bends on the underside of the bars, the welds are showing through the crome. I called my dealer, and they said it was normal. I think it's just poor quality. Has anyone else noticed this? I think I will write MOCO about this.
