Tour Pak Light Stays On

I purchased a tour pak light from Tallahassee Dealer about 2 or 3 months ago. It's the standard one, not the LED type. The light at times will not shut off when the lid is closed, resulting in a dead battery. Has happened on two occasions, one resulting in a dead battery. Hasn't happened on a trip yet because I keep the fuse out of it. Sort of like one of them flashlights that you have to look at the working end to see if it's on or not. Them kind of lights aren't much use.

I recall seeing somewhere about a HD TSB indicating that on the FLHTCUI Screaming Eagle models, the light assembly was recalled. It went on to say that if the lamp assembly was purchased over the counter that it would be replaced with the LED type, of which I assume (taking a risk there) that even if the light did not shut off when closing the lid, it wouldn't make any difference due to the lack of amperage draw.

Does anyone have the information regarding the TSB, if one does exist that they could let me know what the number of it is and or weather or not it is worded as such?

Thanks,
Skully

Same thing happened on my dads SEEG a while ago. The fixed worked for him and was under warranty.

I stuck a little battery powered LED in mine with some velcro. Works well enough.

Thats a good idea. That battery will last a long time with an LED.

I went with the 3-light LED kit. Damn cool. 1 for the tour pak, 1 each for the side bags. The two for the bags mount to the underside of the tour pak & shine down into the bags. Very nice quality, clean install.

Give you an idea of the light they produce -- pitch black garage, no camera flash:

How do you know the light is on if the lid is closed?

My 'trunk monkey' told me. He was finding it difficult to sleep.
