Anyone have this oxidation problem?

I got a new 06 Dyna Street Bob less than two months ago. After two weeks that I had it, all the hardware (nut and bolts) that wasn't chrome, oxidized really bad. The dealer said it shouldn't have happened that fast, but doesn't wan't to deal with it. I call Harley Motor Co. and they tell me its where I store it and won't do anything to help. I keep the bike in a steel storage shed with a pressure treated plywood floor thats been dried out and has a moisture barrier under it, no chemicals and no problems with my old bike that was kept in it. If anyone has had this problem also, or anyone can help I'd really appreciate it .

Unhappy Oxidation

Could be the soap they/you use to wash the bike, one with a high alkalinity that would oxidize the finish on the plain bolts or nuts.

My '04 Sporty did the same thing and I've heard the same complaint from many others.
Cheap hardware me thinks.

Common problem. Many cover the head bolts with chrome caps and swap out the other zinc coated bolts with chrome or polished stainless ones.

oxidation

Had the same problem living on the beach in S. Ca. Dealer wouldn't do a thing about it, said it was the salt air and my problem.

Moved to Tucson, got a new bike and the oxidation started. Dealer wouldn't do anything about it, said it was the dry air and my problem.

Now live in FL so now I have both heat and wet. Dealer won't do anything about it, said that it is the wet and heat and my problem.

Looks like I really screwed up this time by not keeping in a N2 filled bubble.

No problem here. I polish mine when I do the whole bike and they still look great, even the ones without chrome caps.

Harley has you "covered"

For you guys with corrosion problems - this is why Harley won't do anything about it - you have the option of protecting your bike from the stuff that causes it, but you refuse to use it...

You have to get this http://www.latus-harley-davidson.com...2%2D98&cat=225

Ha!
