Triple Tree Leak
I Have An 08 Night Train. When I Ride, The Grease In The Triple Tree Heats Up, Thins Out, Then Spatters All Over The Front Of My Tank And Motor (like A Fine Oil). Dealer Seemed Like They Never Heard Such A Thing. They Changed Something And Added High Temp Grease, But No Fix!!! Anyone Got The Same Problem Or A Solution.

We have this same lovely phenomenon on my wife's '08 Fatboy (from day 1), and it has begun very recently on my '06 RK Custom.
Our dealer tried a different grease on my wife's ride...no effect, still leaks. Haven't attempted to fix mine yet.
We live in the Raleigh/Cary area in North Carolina, and it can get pretty freakin' hot in the summer months...but this is a really not excusable.

same problem
I have the same problem with my 07 nightrain. The grease comes out between the lower triple tree and neck. The grease gets on the tank, primary, left leg, and horn cover. Obviously there are no seals in the neck bearings. Its annoying, but the grease wipes off. I'm more pissed about the clunk in the front end when I hit bumps.

I have the same problem on a 2002 Roadking from day one. What you can do is take a paper towel, cut it in half, fold it up, and lay it up in there behind the lip so it will absorb the grease when it heats up. I just have to change it every week or so; it works for me.

I think Harley sells those. Steering neck tampons. Kiddding. Good solution, that's what I'd do.

I have an 08 FXSTC and I was told by the dealer that the leak is normal. As long as I have the regualr schedule maintenance done it would be okay. My buddy's Fatboy does the same thing. I'm gonna try the paper towel to stop the grease from dirting the front of my bike.
