To my Mother and Sister In Law

My Mother passed away last Sunday after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer of the lung and brain in early August.

Christmas was her thing and having married Italian she adopted to that tradition well. Open House Christmas Eve was the time of celebration, food, drink, and exchanging of gifts. Sit down dinner with close family and then a buffet for all friends and relatives, grandkids and kids and Mom opening her gifts. Man what a time. It will be missed and last night it was terribly.

The Sunday before Thanksgiving my Brother's wife was taken from us in a car accident. On her way home from work and the person who hit her said she ran a stop sign. It was right at a Highway exit ramp so we have to take the only person account of what happened.

Never posted about it and did not think I would but I miss them both TODAY.

My Mother who was sharp of tongue, and had no time for pretense or bullshit, but was a big softies and a "Mother" to a lot of people. She also made sure I had the Title to my Bike before she passed or was even sick. She knew what it meant to me and I will always own this bike until I die. Then my son as I will stipulate it can never be sold out of the family.

Dawn, my Brothers wife for her friendliness and huge capacity to give and forgive. I spent a lot of time in my Brother's garage with the bike and she always feed, talked, and made sure I was OK. She loved my hot dog Oscar, even though she had a 120 pound Doberman she loved and complained about.

Only comfort is I learned to kiss and tell my Mom I loved her whenever I was in person or on the phone with her. I suggest that all learn to say and express their feelings toward others while they are here.

Mom I love you, and yes I will wear my helmet.

Dawn I love you and you are always on my bike with me, I hope you enjoy the rides.

I miss and Love you both.......................

Lee, Thanks for sharing. I am sorry about Dawn and your Mom. I lost my sister in a car accident. Horrible feeling. It is never fair. The times when memories are the fondest is when we miss our loved ones the most.
Merry Christmas.
Brad

Very sorry for your loss, I cannot even begin to know how bad you must feel.
It will help sharing it though and I hope you and your family will have some peace and happiness thru the holidays.
