Spring Hill motorcyclist dies of injuries

A motorcyclist who collided with a pickup south of Gardner on Thursday has died, officials said this morning.
Thomas R. Gruber, 50, of Spring Hill died at Overland Park Regional Medical Center several hours after the crash.
Sheriff's investigators said Gruber was riding west when he collided with a northbound pickup in the intersection of 199th Street and Moonlight Road about 1:45 p.m. He was wearing a helmet, but was unconscious when rescuers arrived to fly him to the hospital.
Only the pickup driver had a stop sign, so Gruber appears to have had the right of way, investigators said.
No one was cited as deputies continue to investigate the crash.
