For those of us who grew up in the sixties and seventies, he was The Man when it came to sports. He will be missed.

I remember watching him when I was a Kid on ABC's Wide World of Sports, Olympic coverage, etc. One of sports journalisms best.

RIP, Mr. McKay. I grew up with him as an announcer on ABC's Wide World of Sports. An icon and a nice guy.

He just seemed like a class act all the way.

There was a great HBO show on him a couple of years ago.
