RIP Mark Canerdy

On Sunday, May 25, 2008, Mark decided that he had so many problems (personal & financial) that he couldn't cope with life any longer, so he did the unthinkable, he took his own life. Mark, age 53 was a lifetime friend of mine, one of those rare individuals who was "always" available to help anyone in need. Mark loved his Harley, a 1999 Road King. I only wished I knew about the problems he was having, each time I called him, he said he was unable to speak with me, little did I know, he was in a massive state of depression, wanting only to be by himself.

Mark, I will miss you. I would of done anything to help you, if I only knew, I feel like I let you down, because you were always there for me. What happened? I can't stop thinking of what you may have been going through.

A similar thing happened to me. My closest friend called me one day and I was working overtime that night and didn't get to call him until the next day. By then it was too late. He had taken his own life. I beat myself up for years over this. There was not a single clue he was going to end it all. Not one. I feel that he had planned it all out, and maybe I couldn't have done anything. He was a military man and kept logs on everything. He was very structured. Still, it hurts that they wouldn't call a brother to share the pain. Whatever it was. Hard to figure. I have no answers. Friday
