FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH
Wilmington man dies in motorcycle crash
NEWPORT, Del. (AP) -- Delaware State Police say a Wilmington man
was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday near Newport.
Thirty-five-year-old Robert M. Anderson died after he crashed
his 2002 Harley Davidson.
Police say he exited Route 141 northbound onto the Boxwood Road
ramp at a high speed while passing traffic on the shoulder. Police
say he swerved back into traffic and lost control, causing him to
strike the guardrail and a chain link fence before crashing into a
light pole.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and investigators said his
unapproved skullcap style helmet came off during the accident.
Police are still investigating the crash.


The "unapproved skullcap style helmet" part is strange as Del. doesn't require helmets.

Not to be callous, death is never good, but the ones I hate to read are about some numbskull in a cage not seeing - and killing or maming - a biker.

Of course they gotta bash him for not wearing a DOT helmet...

When I got hit by a car, flew 41 feet, my NON-DOT helmet didn't even get scratched, but of course the cops took it...

Yeah, I cringe reading that stuff too...
