In need of
new riding boots..the ones I wear, HD Dipsticks, are only good for riding, they kill my feet if I walk for any distance.
anyone have any suggestions? The hardest part is, the HD dealers don't stock many women's boots, so you have to look online, but how do you try a boot on, online??
UGH!

Gina, Try going to a boot store, they should have a ton of styles there. There is a big one over on Rt. 17 in paramus/mawah area that i see advertised in paper.

I have the same problem, gina. Harley is still behind on appropriate riding stuff for women. Most of the boots you see in the harley shop are more about fashion than function. They have gotten a bit better though. The harley boots I have now I got at a regular shoe store that carried some harley stuff. Still, they aren't all that comfortable for walking.

so, what we have to do is bring along a different shoe, and change, once the bike is parked. I'm not into that...Guess I'm going to have to go to a boot store and try something there...It doesn't have to be HD brand, just comfortable!

what i wear is just a plain high top regular boot. you know like the 70's "waffle stompers" or something like that. they are good to ride in, and they are comfortable after getting off the bike to walk around in

you just need to make sure you get the right soles...rubber...so you aren't slipping on oil and stuff.

Unless you're familiar with the brand and model of boot, I'd recommend always buy in person exactly for the reason you gave. Nothing is more miserable than a long day in poor fitting shoes/boots.
I'd recommend visiting your local Red Wing Shoe Store. They will make sure the boots fit correctly. They also have a line of motorcycle boots and their boots are American made.

You might try a "logger" no matter where you find them...they're made for workin' in all day...

It's a boot style, usually a very rugged boot with the heavily lugged vibram soles.

Many folks like loggers for riding, but the heel is taller than I'm comfortable with while walking.
