Ladies Riding Isn't New
Not being female, I don't know if I should post here, but what the hell.
As long as I've been riding, which is way yonder longer than I care to remember, there have been Women riding. Hardy souls back in the day, for sure.
In 1979, I got nailed by a drunk kid in a beater cage, no license, no insurance, the whole drill. Got me at about midnight on Route 64 outside of Chicago, and I pulled my bike (fresh motor) over onto myself before we hit ground to save the cases. I lay under it for several eternities after we landed, trying to move, but my arm wouldn't work and the rest of me was about as bad. Finally, someone in a cage stopped and walked up, and I heard this old fart say "ya oughta move this piece a scrap before ya cause a REAL accident!". I calmly informed him that if i could move, I'd kill him.
Next thing I know, Jo, the Lady who worked the counter at our friendly local H.D. dealer is there, and pulls the bike far enough offa me to let me roll out from under it. She got me standing up, and between the 2 of us we got my bike up on it's stand by the time the ambulance got there for me. Hell, I'd probably still be laying out there if it wasn't for her! Anyhow, she was hooked-up with a group of Ladies, I wanna say the "Women on Wheels", and believe me, she was number 1 with me that night.
By the way, if anyone ever runs across a scumbag named Gary Bachar (the cage driver), let me know. He left the state the day I got outta the horsepistol!
