Suzuki Bandit 1250

I'm thinking about getting one of these to equip as a sport tourer with full fairing, bags and trunk. Anyone have any experience with them? Seems to be an awful lot of bike for comparatively small change . . . .

I had an 02 Bandit 1200. It was an awesome bike. It had carburetors and was a little cold blooded though. I jetted all 4 carbs and put a Yoshimura pipe on that bike and you just couldn't find the top speed. I sold it to a good friend of mine and he is still riding it. The 1250 has fuel injection and I would imagine that it makes for a perfect ride. I don't see how you could go wrong personally. Dale Walker used to supply all kind of parts for these bikes. Look him up at: www.holeshot.com

The Bandit has an older version of the GSXR engine. It has been around a long time and is bulletproof by all estimations.

Thanks, man. I rode one today, an 07 with only 5k mi already equipped with bags, trunk, and aftermarket taller screen for only $6.5K. I think I'm getting it. It's a fukin' rocket, stable and smooth.

That sounds like a good deal. I wish I'd never sold mine but I just can't justify owning 2 bikes at a time. I bet you'll enjoy it. Post some pics up when you get it.

gsxrboy96 is an unknown quantity at this point
you wont regret getting a bandit, I use to have a 1200, and put gsxr cams and some flat slides on it with holeshot exhaust, the bike was a missle and very reliable, altho it didnt like traffic, but with the new water cooled 1250, i dont see a single flaw in that bike,

Picked up the Bandit today, spent most of the day riding it after figuring out how to lower the seat. Still can't flat foot it, but almost so it's close enough for government work. The fatboy might get a good cleaning and become a garage queen for awhile. The torque and speed of the Bandit is astonishing. I need to settle down . . .

Sounds like a lot of fun to me. I had an '81 GS1100E years ago and went back for an SV1000 in '03. Them Suzooks are fantastic bikes in their corner of the market. If I go that way again it'll be a Bandit 1250. Ride safe.
