v star 1100 custom...

just got a v star 100 custom...it's gotta problem...it wouldn't idle without the choke lever being out...pulled the carbs,found absolutley nothing...put them back on,now the bike idles,however,it's kinda like the throttle sticks,the engine revs,but the throttle is closed,it's back firing through the pipes too...any ideas ???

Those are symptoms of an intake air leak.

here's a little update...

went back to old school diagnosing... found the valves were way tight on the forward cylinder...adjusted the valves on both cylinders,fired it up and synched the carbs,runs excellent...
