Honda Rune
One of my partners is looking at a 2005 (new) Rune for under 20K. It stickered for 27K and Honds has about 100 left they are blowing out.
880 pounds like an ultra but lower and very fast with the 6 engine. Not for me but have you had any experience with them.
It's sort a combination between a batmobile and a buck rogers rocket bike. Kind a cool in a rero way. It's a one seater only.

Friend of mine has one, says it's a fantastic bike, lots of power and a great riding bike. BUT, he's selling his because it cost him $1200 to change the tires recently. Apparently the tires are specific to this bike and it takes a tech about 4-5 hours to get the wheels on and off.

One of my buddies I ride with all the time has had his since 04 and has 25K+ miles on his. Never had a problem, it runs perfect and very strong low and top end. It's an interesting piece of machinery and it gets lots of attention wherever we go. I've ridden it before, it's different but it was pretty cool... Little clumsy low speed in tight spaces but rides excellent on everything from the back broads to the highway with tons of smooth power.
Sub 20K is a good deal, but I have seen them sell new as low as 17K. As long as he plans on keeping it and isn't worried about future resale value it's a great bike for that kind of $. Biggest problem is virtually no factory or after market accesoories available. He had to custom make a luggage rack to attach to his Corbin seat so he could run a Kuryakyn soft tourpack.

The 6 cylinder Honda that was inline was a disaster and did not sell well. many picked these up for about 1/2 msrp. They did have some problems, but today they are worth a lot of money. They were considered fugly at the time.

I thought the Rune was sort of nice. I sat on one once at a Honda dealer when they first came out. They are very heavy, however. I had difficulty even getting it off the side stand. I have heard that they handle poorly at low speed.
IMHO, if you must have a Honda, the GL1800 would be a much better buy. They are a good touring bike with most of the accessories you would need. The tires are easy to change also. The rear swingarm is one-sided so that helps a great deal.
The Rune on the other hand is more of a novelty. Heavy, no accessories and mondo expensive.

I cant imagine why tire changes would cost 1200.00... the rear is a single sided swingarm and my friend claims he can take it off easily. He is getting new tires installed on Friday, they are specialty tires sizes made only by Dunlop (same as VROD) but he claims removal and installation is a breeze and less difficult than most other bikes. The cost of the tire is typical Dealer Dunlop prices.
