Anyone ever run a Warrior

Not sure if I'm posting in the right section or not but just wondering if anyone has ran one of those Yamaha Road Star Warriors. I hear they run pretty good.

Have run against one...no

But I do have one as 1 of my 3 bikes.

My current RSW is a 2002 with HC pistons, BAK, Muzzy 2-1, PCIII w/custom map.
92.7 rwhp @ 5000
114 ft-lb @ 3200.

Yes it pulls freakin hard....lol

Could I beat most v-twins...probably...all of them...no. It is definately a fun bike to ride.

My friend have 1.7 Warrior. So far we only once make "drag racing". I was riding my stage 1 1200 Sporty and he could`t escape from me (we were racing from stop to about 90 mph). But on a roll on it`s a different story. I took his bike for a short ride It is fast, it pull hard (smokes tire ), it accelerates to 100mph QUICK it can run 120 mph- but I was not so impressed (I dont know maybe I was expecting power like on sport bike). Warrior has (about) 86 hp and 140 Nm @ the crank so Twin Cam with 103" engine should be faster (or at least have more power) . The advantage of Warrior is power to weight ratio.

I've both ridden them, and ran against them. None were stock. The pull good, nice bikes.

But I still spank them pretty good.....

Hard to beat for the money though......

What Sledman said.

I've run a couple and hammered them pretty good. All from slow-to-medium rolls. One was basically stock, then got some mods done and a PCIII I think. I've beaten him with and without mods. The other was built - but I don't know what all he had in it besides exhaust.

A stock or Stage 1, pre 96" won't get it done IMO. A stock Warrior is 102" and they run pretty strong as-is. Add HC pistons, exhaust, PCIII and a few relatively small tweaks - and they're damn strong.

They've got an aluminum frame with geometry that's optimal for launching, sportbike forks and brakes. They launch and handle well. Their power is down low and they're about done by 5000 or so. Even with work, they're not revvers. Stage 1 to a 96" HD ought to be a good race. Stoplight-to-stoplight you'd best be on your toes. They launch hard.

warrior

Stock for stock won't beat a V-Rod, which I think is a V-twin. Oh yes, it is only 1130cc. Dave
