I bought this bike a year ago, getting back into motorcycles after selling my last one to fund the wifes wedding ring. I went with the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 because I wanted something a little smaller then a touring bike, and the price on these are pretty good. Well its only been a year, and Im allready trying to sell it to buy an Ultra Classic, but here it is for now. I have about $3000 worth of add-ons, and a lot of customizing. Actually some of my add-ons are Harley Davidson parts including the driving lights, the Road King lowers, risers, and a few other parts. I painted her flat black, and get a lot of compliments... not bad for a metric.
Nice looking Scoot. You may take a beating on a trade-in so try to sell it outright. You will get more for the accessories from outright sale. HD won't give you anything for the accessories. I did the same thing years ago and am now on my 4th HD, I keep moving up until I got a EG.
You can put lipstick on a pig, but it will still be a pig. Just trade it in on the bike that you really want and put the "loss" out of your mind. Every time you ride the Ultra Classic you will always tell yourself it was worth it.
Also, you can always sell the ring to help pay for the new bike.
Im going to sell it outright. I know dealers dont give a crap how many accessories are on a bike, they only look at book value. And a japanese bike at a Harley dealership is gonna get bottom dollar any way you cut it. IF by some chance I cant sell it outright, Ill take all the extras off, ebay 'em, then trade the bike in and just be chalk it up to experience.
