So I bught a new V 200 LT Classic!
I have owned five Harleys (counting one Buell). Every one of them had "issues" with respect to my riding stylè (long and fast, but not abuse). My local H D dealer (a 30-year friend, and Baja racing partner), summed it it up when he said, `you ride pretty extreme, if they have any flaws, you`ll find them!``
Engine problems with my `05 FLH lead me to test ride several power cruisers, and the one that blew me away was the Kaw 2000. 2055 c.c. s of wretched excess in every respect! It is hugely ugly in my eyes, and it is a marketing orphan, but that beautiful low-rev, high-torque acceleration is the epitome of what I am looking for in a road burner! It is big and comfortable, has excellent brakes, and (barely) adaquate ground clearance. It looks like a 200-plus fuel range, and it seems to run fine on reg (87 octane) fuel.
I will spend some time and $$`s to make it tour, and report back with a longer term evaluation.
El Mur.
