Ridley Motorcycles
These aren't imported but they aren't Victory either.
I saw these at Laconia. Really nice bike. I kinda like the CVO transmission, especially for the wife. They are really sharp looking. Definitely smaller at almost half the weight of a HD Touring. Here is their site.

i saw a lady riding one while we were at Neptunes Net in Malibu short time back. Had all kinds of people around it...seemed to be a crowd pleaser.

good idea but not price competitive with superscooters
Good idea I thought at first but after looking into it more....
It's a small (3/4 size?) bike
underpowered
very expensive for what it is
limited resale
Spent 1/3 of the money and got a 400 cc Suzuki superscooter that'll go faster than she ever wants (I got it up to 90mph), gets 60 mpg, lighter (easier for the missus to hold up) and has lots of underseat storage. Doesn't have "the motorcycle look" - but wins, hands down. Everyone wants to ride it.
Haven't had anybody yet say they didn't like it a lot.
Not saying there's not a place for the Ridleys - I think they're neat and well-built. But I think most of their their target market is going to go with a superscooter for the money.

It the "Old School" model, 2006. She rode it 3 times and let it sit in the garage for 2 years, while we finalized the divorce. I have it now, and don't need it. I am willing to trailer it to the right buyer.

Those are nice looking. I would consider one if the price was right. Low 20's is too much...

I suspect the automatic is the same as snowmobile setups. Most snowmobiles carry a spare belt. Maybe it works, but my suspicion is a short belt life.

I drive a Dodge Caliber which has CV transmission similar to what the Ridleys use. I have owned it 18 months, 15K miles on it and haven't gone thorugh a belt yet. The usage patterns are obviously different (car vs. motorcycle), but I think the technology is solid.

Huge difference in the power delivery and use of a snowmobile and the bike. I suspect the bike would rarely need a belt replacement.
Many ATV's use the CVT/belt setup as well. My experience with them is stock the belt lasts almost forever. Once you start modding and racing them the belt takes alot of abuse. In all my years riding and racing quads we never broke a belt though.
I didn't realize they are made in OKC, I spend 2 or more days a week there, will have to check the factory out.

Is this bike still for sale? If so how much? What is the condition? How many miles? Extended warranty? Color?
Thanks!
