CANADA - Kingston, Ontario HOG Rally

For those of you thinking about attending this rally, you'd better pre-register soon! Looks like this is going to be a big event and definitely a memorable one. You can find all the info about the rally here: Ontario HOG Rally

For those of you concerned about security, don't worry about it. Not only are there plans to surround the entire rally site with steel fencing, I will be one of the Security staff on duty.

The pre-reg link on the web site doesn't work. Tried it with a couple-a different browsers and no-go....

I just tried and it works for me. Here's the direct link to the form, let me know if it doesn't work: Pre-registration form

The direct link you sent works and is very different from the link on the web site. You may wish to try to re-post the message and put a fresh version of the URL in it.

That's because it's actually a separate page. The actual Pre-registration page has all the rally info on it including local hotels, campgrounds, attractions, etc. On that page is a hyperlink to the registration form - all I did was send you the direct link to that page. I don't know why your browser works for the pre-reg form and not for the pre-reg page, but the main thing is at least you can register now.

If you need to book a hotel or campground spot let me know; I'll cut and paste the info from the web page and email it to you.

Thumbs up

Don't forget to let me know when you'll be riding up here. If I'm not working shift at the rally I'll meet you at the Canadian side of the bridge.

Hey there Mike,
I'll be there. I'm not familiar with the Kingston area and was wondering if the motel area is close to the rally site ? Is St Lawence college where it's being held ? I didn't find any maps to rally site but I'll figure it out.
Thanks,
snoman

All of the motels listed on the Accomodations page are in the city limits and within a 10-15 minute ride to the rally site, which is right beside St Lawrence College. Send a PM and tell me which direction you'll be coming from and I'll be happy to give you directions to the rally site and motel of your choosing.

See you there!

Thanks Mike, I'll touch base with you later on. I also E-mailed the campus to see if they offer any accomodations for the event. Not sure if they'd want me in a college dorm ! HeHeHe !

Yep, looks like the rally's gonna be huge!

I don't know the Conway Inn but I do know the area it's located at, you're still only about a 10 minute ride through the city to the rally site. As for bars, well, I live in a town about 27km east of Kingston so I don't know the night scene in the city all that well. But, keeping in mind that Kingston is a University and College city, there are many bars scattered about. AJ's Hangar and The Grizzly Grill are two of the most prominent hot spots (or "meat markets" as they were called when I was younger) and they located across the street from each other about a 5 minute ride south on Princess St from your hotel. Actually, most of the bars are located on that street as it's the main drag through the city, aka HWY 2. There are also several restaurant/bars on Gardiners Road, which will be a short jaunt north on Princess St from your Inn and then left. Monatana's, Whiskey Willy's, Kelsey's and that sort of thing. There's also Raxx, which is THE place to be if you want to play pool. Place is usually packed every day of the week, it's on Gardiners Road just before it ends at Bath Rd.

Best thing to do when you visit Kingston is to just explore it!

Kingston

Hey, stumbled into this post by chance running kingston. I looked it up and and the Conway motel is on Princess street near the old shopping center. It would be about 5 minutes tops from St Lawrence. Bars near you there... you could tour down Princess to Division street intersection and you are in "the hub". Grizzlys is the most "age appropriate"!!! Lots of bars at the end of Princess on Ontario street as well. Tiernog (irish pub) etc.
Its a great city, just pm me if you want any info at all.
