What type of reality TV series about motorcycles would you prefer to watch?
I am not sure if this is the right section for this, but I am sure that it could be a Hot Topic.
I saw this poll over at Motorcycle About.com in regards to an article about a new TV show featuring Metric bike building.
My curiousity about what people would think about that over here has led me to post the same poll as they have running over there. As of today 5/25/06, there results are shown below, but don't let that sway your opinion!
What type of reality TV series about motorcycles would you prefer to watch?
Build-Off with American made motorcycles (5) 5%
Build-Off with metric (e.g., Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Triumph) motorcycles (43) 44%
More shows like American Chopper (11) 11%
Forget Reality. Give me a good action series about motorcycles like Then Came Bronson (16) 16%
I don't watch reality TV, even if about motorcycles (19) 19%
I don't watch TV (3) 3%
Total Votes: 97

How about some real tours, with real people and real weather. Not the “pan the riders for 30 min.”, but real scenery and real back roads. Rides of 500+ miles (that’s two day or longer rides for you non geezer glide riders)
Any one of us would – could suggest rides and be happy to go on them.
Just think riding and getting all of your expenses paid for. I’LL volunteer for the first one and even let you pick the rout.

Or the bullsh*t fighting and impossible deadlines. If you need the bike done for some stupid unveiling... start it 2 weeks earlier. But I do love watching good bike builders. Not OCC

True life reality
How about a series showing those folks that repair and mod their bikes in their carport, backyard, school parking lot....with tools they got at flea-markets because they spent so much on thier ride and accessories that they cant afford anything else. No big time shops.....no sponsors...just what you see every day of the week in any neighborhood in any town. Now THAT'S reality!!!

I like shows on the Two-Wheel Tuesday line-up on Speed TV, like V-twin TV, Corbin's Ride on, and American Thunder, me likes that Michele Smith!
I'm not into shows where ego-maniacs put down other people, or people bicker and fight about nonsense, or some guy acting like he is too cool for school. I'm not buying it and I'm not drinking the water.
I dig everyday folks putting together cool stuff for the masses, not 50k plus bikes or bikes that look painful to ride.

Too much BS on most shows about bike building, although I did enjoy the show on Milwaukee Iron. Stupidest one I saw was the guy from Dallas - can't remember the name (Strokers??). It was supposed to be "reality" but you could tell they'd scripted it - it was awful!
I like watching shows that document some specific event - like Sturgis, or a charity run, or something of the sort where they just capture what the event is really like, as long as it's unbiased and not meant to show the event or bikers in a bad light to make some kind of statement.

I do like the build offs just to see the various ideas... some work, some don't. I can do without the drama.
There was a build off where some builder in Florida... fairly big name that I can't seem to remember... ran the exhaust under the seat and came out under the back of the rear fender. It was very cool looking, but when they rode to the unveiling, he had to stop several times to let his ass cool off.
I wonder how many other things are so whimsically engineered. I wonder what kind of problems the eventual owners have to deal with... that would be an interesting show:
or... Restoring Old Bikes... that would be interesting.

I like the show but the plot repeats itself too often.

Billy Lane, Chop fiction. Its a pretty good book. I think you will find yourself giving him a little more respect after you read it. Nuff said.

I know he can't read a tape measure... just thought he couldn't read either much less write.
That said... I think he is a pretty free spirit and willing to try things that nobody else has... I do admire that. I can't remember the last time I tried something new that I didn't have to refine and perfect. Doubt that I'll read the book though.
