Question I need to find mineral oil resistant seals

Hey members, I have an application , with a hydraulic slave cylinder , that uses a high grade MINERAL OIL, my HD, V-Rod master cylinder's seals , disentergrated , swelled up , turned smutty black, and totally failed. Is there any one who knows where I can find , mineral oil resistant , seals , for a V-Rod clutch Master Cylinder ?
I chose the V-Rod because all my other switches are Harley , and I want to use the hydraulic clutch master cylinder.
Thank you,
Wayne Wheeler

You can check Mcmaster.com. I think that is the link that will work.

I don't know the specific dimensions of the o-rings/seals that you may need. But the most durable o-rings seals I know of are either teflon or viton. I feel sure that viton will take care of your problem.

I would make the dealer straiten this out, as it would seem to me that they got the wrong type of seals from the vendor.

Good Luck

Don

DMC the vendor didnt use the wrong seals.. As Wayne stated he is using the master cyl. from a V-Rod for another purpose I would assume a backhoe .And not the one it was intended for , Wayne I would try to find a seal from a yard equipment dealer as they use mineral oil for hydraulics on earth equipment. It may take a while as I'm sure there is no cross ref book to a Harley master cyl.
