Paul Jr. fired from OCC? Anybody watch the episode tonight?
The father and son constantly fight, but this one was different in this episode. Paul Sr. Fired Paul Jr. It was over the same old stuff where Paul Sr. was mad that Jr. came in late. This time, he told him he was fired, and they both started throwing shi!t, but Jr. never came back.
Prior to the meeting, Sr. had a staff meeting and told them that they were going to have to lay some people off due to the poor economy. I've wondered how they were doing in this economy, if even Harley stock is down 65%.
Well, it was apparent that Sr. didn't think it through and made a rash decision, because without the father-son team, OCC is going to fail completely. Bye, bye television show, bye bye fancy shop, and say bye to your huge income.
I know, I know. These guys fight all the time. This one was different though. Junior was even calling around and trying to start up his own business. Had his tools delivered from the shop to his garage at home, and the whole nine yards.
Seeing as there is obviously a delay between when the show is filmed, and when it airs, I'm curious if anybody has heard if they have split for good?

it must have been a rough winter. thats a scripted soap opera man. i figured its time for the show to cancel anyway. choppers are dead, theme bikes have probably flooded the market, people have discovered a motorcycle is NOT an investment, and, everyone is holding their cash!
maybe they will replace em with the guys from sucker punch, flyrite, or confederate.

After seeing the chimps that worked for Boyd Coddington, (RIP) I'm not sure I can take another "Watch us build it" show, and see what really goes on in the shop.........
Confederate I'm not keen on, but I'd love to see SPS, ir Flyrite's shop builds......

I thought the best one of those shows was the one where a non-professional would come in to Exile Cycles and try to build a bike in 10 days. If they did it to Russell Mictchell's satisfaction, they got to keep the bike. They were sometimes really brutal. Now that was good TV!

The Show was neat a few years back when it started. I enjoyed watching them build and fabricate the parts. Then they started buying everything and just assembling it...now they just do their scripted reality tv BS and then show Paul Sr. ride the bike out at the end.
They should move it to VH1 with the other bad tv programs, and put a motorcycle show on discovery.

Everything went to **** after Vinnie left
It's a shame. Paul Sr and Jr let the hype go to thier heads. Vinnie did all the work got and got nothing for his efforts, then Paully took all the credit for Vinnies work. And they wonder why he left OCC?
You do not have to be an economist to know that OCC was spending too much, too fast and they were going to hit bottom sooner or later. Their over glamourized publicity was nothing but hype and scripted for television, then sold out their name to market products. It also took something away from the guys who build bikes for a living and for a passion. Indian Larry (RIP), Russell Mitchell, Jessie James, Billy Lane, and the countless others in small back yard shops across america.
I made a trip to Montgomery NY a few years back when I was in the area on business and got to tour their facility. I'm an Aerospace/ SAE Engineer by profession and I was disappointed. I could see they were in trouble then. If it were not for the real bike mechanics they have working for them, they would have been out of business a lond time ago.
So, Sr and Jr, save the drama for your momma and move on. Mikie can stay.

Build or Bust was right up there with Biker Build-Off. A solid show that focused on motorcycles and not a lot of scripted drama. Russell Mitchell is one of my favorite builders, his bikes look sharp and are built to ride, not sit on a podium in the foyer of some fancy corporate headquarters. Haven't seen anything new out of him on tv since he did that episode of Rock of Love II last year (which really wasn't that much about bikes..haha).

That was a great show. Found myself always on edge wondering if the bike would run/get finished. That's reality t.v.

American Chopper was intended to be a show about a father & son working together in the same business, somewhere along the line it became a show about a bike builder. If the firing is for real and not scripted for rating, I guess this show has come full circle - a show about the struggles of a father/son working together?

One of the Build or Bust shows they had a lot of trouble with was the episode where Jesse Rooke showed up and ended up throwing a tantrum, took all his parts and went home. I lost a lot of respect for that kid after seeing that episode. Spoiled Prima Donna... It sounded like the producer was going to lose a lot of sponsorship money as that particular show was a waste of air time (nothing got built). I think it went off air shortly after. Too bad, it was one of my favorites.

I was kinda surprised to watch that show go from father-son recover, build and go big to the dysfunctional money not a consideration walking egos. Families gone now, down to fights and girlfriends. Funny, on the show right after the firing, while eating lobster Vinnie and Mikey bring to the shop, Paul Sr. blathering on about how you treat family/employees right, they will do right by you, haha. Didn't follow his own advise.

I watched OCC just a few times. It was like spending an hour with my inlaws, 3 or 4 people fighting over the possession of one brain cell. Man it was sad.
Does anyone have first hand experience on how well their bikes were built. After seeing them on tv I wouldn't have trusted them to fix my kids wagon. I liked the design of a few of their bikes but I am curious as to the quality of the build.

I worked with my father for 15 years before I bought the family bussiness and he retired .We had are fair share of fights but we never let anything leave our shop like some of the stuff I've seen them do on national tv. Anyone ever here of OSHA I am surprised they made it this long.
