Please read this...

This petition is very important to a very close friend of mine. She was raised here due to unfortunate circumstances. If you can take 2 minutes to sign it, she would be greatly touched. I know alot of you will, and thank you in advance. Billy

His close friend is my wife....it shaped her life, and in many ways saved her life. This facility is the only place like it that i have ever heard of, it would be a horrible loss to the state of Indiana, and to the country. If there were a few more places like this around the country, we might be able to keep some of these kids from getting into trouble that will affect them for the rest of their lives. Its called the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Childrens Home...look up its history

Not to be the "stick in the mud" on purpose but do you know that on-line petitions mean absolutely nothing and carry no weight? The people that count NEVER even see them. Some sh*thead "aide screens everything that goes to the boss....and I seriously doubt if any on-line petitions have ever been taken seriously.

If you folks in Indiana really want the governor to do something you need to send personal letters via email or via the snail mail. By the way...opinions or comments from people in any other state mean even less than on-line petitions.

Well the personal letters are being sent, and yes online petitions don't do much, but if you send a copy of the petition with every letter... Then you get somewhere. Yes out of state oppinions may not mean much, but they show that there have been alot of people effected by this place. TV and radio stations will be informed and we will make it known.

Out of state signatures do mean a lot also...especially if a lot of them are from people who were touched or are related to someone whose life was rescued by the existence of this place...Isnt that the point of a place like this, so that troubled or challenged children can go out into the world and be productive. That is just what you are seeing here. And paper copies of this and letters will go to the governor, its been on the news in Indiana, and you can see by reading the messages, that it is not a fabricated petition.
This home has produced many soldiers that have gone on to fight for our country, and trained many children with vocations. It is a safe place for them to learn and grow. Before this is over it will gain National attention....

Thank you and yes it is for a great cause...this country can not afford to keep throwing away the things that help those that cant help themselves...its ridiculous....you want the future to keep heading downhill...keep letting children slip through the cracks...that will insure a bright and promising future...

Wile I do sign petitions I only sign them if I have a clear understanding of the issues at hand and what signing it i would be supporting.

I have no clue what this is about, the impact to the community, or the financial aspects for the state.

Could you please provide some back round and news links for us to read first.

Thank you all...here is what my wife said about it on our club's message board....

"Many of you who know me are aware that I have spent some time in a children's home. That home is now in jeopardy of being closed within the next year. Actually, I believe the decision has already been made and now the only thing to do is try to petition to keep it open, or at least salvage the historical buildings located there.

Without going into the reasons why, I spent several years of my youth in ISSCH. The time there has since shaped me into the person I am today. I have countless memories and friendships from my experience there and will treasure it for the rest of my life. Many of the children I knew while I was there were refugees from homes worse than even the most horrifically imaginable conditions. Without the love, guidance and structure of the home, many of them would have died or become throw-aways of society.
I know MANY highly successful people who spent time in ISSCH, but the one thing we ALL share is a sense of pride for having been given an opportunity to have a better life

Even if you have no idea why you should waste your time with a petition that doesn't concern you....please at least visit the site below and read what it means to so many of us. Since at least 1891, the home has been a place like no other, it's a place of hope..........for that reason alone, please take a few moments to help keep it in its function.

If you are kind enough to sign the petition......you will be asked what your affiliation is to the home.....simply tell them you know someone whose life was touched by it!!!!

If you have difficulty with the link below, simply copy the link and paste it in your search engine.

http://www.petitiononline.com/ISSCH/petition.html

Thank you so very much for your time,
Denise"
