Just becasue I'm a smart ass....

Does the tires off the ground law mean you get an extra ticket if you dump yer bike ..??? Or do you have to keep your toes on the wheels while you are righting it?
BWAHAHAHA...

There doesn't seem to be a limit there.. just sayin'...

I see the intent of the law.. Just poking holes in the way it's written..so don't thrash me too bad....

Exclamation Cheap solution for the tag thing

Hi, I live in Florida and was really upset about the new law, But then I found someone local who is a biker and decided to do something about it.

He came up with a great fix for the bike tags that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

http://www.ustickit2m.com

They see this law as just a way for the gov. to get your $$. I mean 3 rd offence= 3rd degree felony! Are they kidding! For a sideways tag...
The real reason they did this to the tags, is because the new cameras at lights can't read them sideways... so they want to be able to ticket you, and if they can't read it .. well..

Anyway, check it out! It could really save someone a lot of $$

I don't think so. This is in response to the people that tuck the plate up under the fender so as to not be identified. That is the only reason that this law was made. People have been hanging their plate sideways for years without a propblem. Even hanging sideways its still easy to read so I don't think that you would be targeted for that.

What? The camera can take the picture whether the tag is sideways upside down or right side up. The camera does not read the tag it takes a picture thats all. A person reads the picture.

You have to give the cops a little credit. After all they have alot of discretion as to who they give a ticket to and who they don't. For the most part I think comon sense will come into play if and when tickets are issued for these offenses. I know way they these laws were written you know why they were written and so do the cops. Give them a little credit.

You are correct there, here in Calif, as other places, they are concerned about loud pipes. 95% of all bikes on the road could be written, but most aren't. you have to be really loud or IN THE WRONG PLACE!. The wrong place could very well be where ther are bike meets that the locals do not like, the PDs will have a zero tolerance policy here. This is all about revenue and sticking it to the rice rockets that do crazy stunts and/or run from the police. The problem here is that they couldn't just write for them, they have to write for all, All this takes is for someone in power to have a hate on for Harleys(yes, they are out there), and you will be the target. remember, old geezers that can afford a Harley must be rich, or at least they do have more than most of the rice rocket crowd. So, who will they target, when the department is short of cash?

Don't tell me it doesn't happen, look at all the departments that went after "drugs in thier community" in order to get peaceable people's land(they smoke weed) or just so they could get a piece of anything they could take. It happens.

They are not only dangerous, they are also leading to restrictions and attitudes that apply to ALL motorcyclists.

The license plate thing is over-the-top, though.
Agreed
