Semper Par Popeye I've noticed certain groups of folks (non -vets) sometimes tend to fixate on the small stuff. I used to think boondockers were the cats azz to ride in.If I wore the then optional 13 button dress blues at a certain speed the wind through the fly sounded like a calliope (sic). This of course negated the need for a stereo.

Palm Beach Rider, I dont think the brand of scooter yur on will change or detract from the thrill of riding. I heard of a guy who, having been told of the superior horsepower of the Victory, took one for a test ride while wearing flip flops. At the top of third gear they started a high frquency flutter and exited his feet. Than he had to stop for a red light and had to put his feet down on the asphalt in the hot palm in the hot Palm Beach sun. HE EXPERIENCED THE THRILL OF VICTORY AND THE AGONY OF DA FEET! (Somebody stop me.)

I'm not about to park my bike but once in a while I wonder if it wouldn't be safer to take up bull riding. Maybe that is why riding is so exhilarating? My senses are all tuned into what is going on around me, both the good and bad.
Lights seem brighter, smells seem stronger (sometimes too strong), temperatures are more extreme as we don't have a heater or air-conditioning, the dark is blacker and the eyes in the ditches are scarier.
I'm not thinking about what a rotten day I had at work or why the wife is mad at me or what the kids are getting into, I'm thinking about riding, enjoying it and getting home in one piece to ride again the next time.

It's like a box of chocolates, each ride is different, exciting, and usually includes the unexpected.
