Speaker

Hello, I have a 06 Hertiage Softail FLsti, not a classic. I m looking for speaker system that I can run my I pod on.
Kruykan came out there for something like $400. Way too much.
Has anybody done anything. I don't know if my I Pod puts out enough watt.
I see 50 watt is that good or m I going to waste my $$. I see other system out there with a amp. But where do you put the amp?
I do have the detackable windshield.

If you have any input and what brand or web site. That would be great.
Thanks in advance, T Ling

Tling,
Cycle Sounds has a set (used to be 2 wheel tunes), but they are the same price.
I called Kuryakyn last week about the new sound of chrome spkrs they are advertising and they told me that each spkr has a built in 50 watt amplifier and the Ipod should work perfectly. I spoke there with a tech named Brian.
Hope this answers your question.

50 watts should be enough power to hear with windshield on. I think the stock stereo in the '04 and older baggers were 40 watts. Not sure about the hew HK version. At any rate 50 watts s/b fine.

Thank you to all, another question, these speaker are for the 105 road trip to HD. I am thinking of using/adding a ciagrette lighter tie into the plug that I use for my charger. This way i can plug in cell phone to charge that up also. Any input?

I use a Battery Tender Plus on my bikes (which I'd recommend for you). I took one of their pigtails that you can buy at HD and adapted it to a cigarette plug in adapter that I picked up at Radio Shack. Now I can just plug the pigtail into the lead to my battery and plug the phone charger into the adapter. Works great.

If you get to where you want to charge several things look into the iGo Systems also carried at Radio Shack.

Hey,
Formotion Products makes a 12 volt power plug that comes with cig lighter inside. It also has a plug in on the bottom for accys such as heated clothing, 12v coffee maker, phone charger, etc...
It is HEAVY DUTY and hefty!!! The chrome is a class act in itself.
I purchased one 2 wks ago and installed it in about 1/2 hr and it works perfectly.
They are pricey at about $90, but once you hold it in your hand you will see that it is NOT cheaply made.

TY, I'll let you know how and what I decided, any body else going to the 105 in MI?
Also I'll look at the site to see what will hold my I Pod on the bike. Seen one that goes on the clutch side and one that is on the gas cap.
Still can't figure out how cell phone or I pod sit there?
Can't use the clutch side, I have a bracket there, that is where I mount my digital cam on there. I recorded our ride to OC Maryland bike week, work out great.
Thansk again. TLing
