to be honest, getting the quad didn't really bother her. We have "2" 4 year old kids (boy & girl) and during winter this can keep them entertained by "tubeing" behind it. The wife "HATES" winter , so I can keep them occupied while she stays indoors.
PLUS* these things KICK ASS during the summer off-roading in the hills.

I know it will make no difference to harley but I won't have to swallow the constant crap I get from the dealer. In my opinion once again they have made no real improvements to there bikes but have raised the price. So I guess I'll just get a good handling bike and put some cash back in my pocket.

Point is to be true to what YOU want
and not be forced to have someones attitude or opinion (dealer, rider, whatever) alter what decision you make for yourself. If HD is in your blood, then its what your gonna get, one way or the other. If its just an option for you than thats cool too.

There will be a time when the customer will have to show the cash, until then treat them all like they could pay cash if they wanted to.I think it comes down to customer service, the consumer has a choice and if you are going to get their business you had better do what it takes to earn it.

Salepeople usually make judgements about prospective customers based upon prior experience in dealing with hundreds of people, I do it, most people in sales do it. If your livelihood is sales you don't want to waste your efforts on time wasters or those that don't have a pot to piss in, and after a while you get pretty good at weeding out the time waster and those with no money and no credit from the real customer within the first 2 minutes, yes, errors will happen and sales will be lost. It's not going to change because it is human nature, so if you look and act like you can't afford jack the salesman may write you off and never know that a sale was lost. Go ahead and flame me, but that's the way it is.

What do you really want?
People are people wherever you go. The MOCO can't ensure only perfect people will be hired at all the dealers any more than McDonalds or Home Depot or Subway or anyone else can. If you really want a Harley then you'll find a dealer that suits you. If you really don't want a Harley then you'll use that excuse to buy another brand.
And you can't say that Harley's haven't improved over time. That's rediculous.

Yep, I went 100 miles vs. 3. Nothing personal, but they were smokin crack if they thought I was going to pay 1500 over retail when I could drive a hundred and get MSRP. Once they found the error of their ways they were sorry, but lost the deal anyway. I agree with the excuse thing. At least he won't have to worry constantly about somebody stealing his wheels like we all do. I'll still wave to him though, Uhoh, that's a whole other animal.

Happens every day, in every business, someone who shouldn't have been hired in the first place and is only interested in his next paycheck, puts a customer down the road to the competition. Good service is nearly extinct. When I bought my last bike the local dealer wanted 1500 over list for a demo, I bought a year old fatboy with 1000 miles on it and a year of warranty left for 2000 under from a used car dealer. Some of these guys have not figured out that the waiting list days are over and they better start suckin up to the customer, or they'll find someone who will. I wish I still had that 76 GL-1000.
