Dyno numbers

Sent a kit home with a client and he and his friend installed it in their garage.
Took the bike to Performance(?) Harley in Syracuse N.Y.
They wondered what to expect for numbers prior to what they consider a tune.
He alerted them to "between 115-120 hp". When they heard that, he was made a mockery of and was told the "baddest" 95" was the owners, as it was marking 104 hp. That is all you should ever expect. When the smoke cleared, Bill Chappell's bike rolled 115.8 hp and 108 ft/lbs, with a bored Delphi, and lousey pipes!!!!!!!!!(TX CHOP, that bike had the TW-9BG's)
The owner was so pissed(???????) he went up to his office and did not come out.
Everyone flocked around Bill after, and it turned into a question/answer session. Rumor was during that time, the owner was going to throw him off the premises?!?!?!??? Wow!?
Later in the year(last summer) the two happened to run into each other, and our client waxed the owner, stoplight/stoplight by 3 bike lengths and only got it in 3rd!!!!!!!!!!
Now the owner is building a 120" Jims.
Bill called us, and said he has sold his Dyna, and is bringing us a 117" S&S top-end/carb/cam change for us to re-work. We know where these land.
Looks like another heaping helping of crow will be served up.
We hear that it is best eaten when warm.
Scott
