Card - Pin - Patch

I'm a life member so of course I don't get a card every year; however, my wife gets her card and pin/patch at different times each year.

Any put their own patches on? Any advice on the process of sewing them or placement of the annual HOG patches?

Far 3ast is an unknown quantity at this point
Here is probably more information than you wanted to know:

Are you in a HOG chapter Chambeaux? If so, you might want to check them for some guidelines. Generally, for the back of vest (or jacket), most people have the large HOG patch at about the center, with the Chapter patch just above it. Other than that there isn't any standard that I know of. Of course chapter officers wear thier office patch on the front, and some flip them over and sew them on upside down on the back when their term is over. If you're big you will be able to fit on a lot of patches, small people gotta be more choosy.

If you decide to put a patch over any area that has a pocket, you will probably lose use of the pocket since it will be sewn shut. The only way to avoid that is if you can find someone who will remove the pocket, sew on the patch, then put the pocket back on. This will probably require the services of a leather repair shop, and could be $$$$.

Any shop that does alterations or leather repair should be able to sew on your patches. Regular alterations shops will usually charge more for sewing leather then they would for regular clothes because they have to change to a heavier needle in their sewing machine, and it's a tougher to sew through. I don't know of anyone who glues patches on. I wouldn't advise it. Probably not good for the leather, and if you ever take the patch off you will have a mess with the glue on there.

On another, unrelated note Chambeaux, my daughter's friends call her "Chamnizzle", as in "f'o shizzle, Chamnizzle!!"

For your first (initial) year as a member, they do not send you a "Year" patch or pin. If you purchased a new scoot and the membership info was not submitted as a "Renewal", it will be treated as a "New Membership" and you will not get the "Year" patch or pin.
