Whinning about Hog? Don't let the door hit you.
Whiners about H.O.G. What part of “HARLEY OWNERS GROUP” did you not understand? I have ridden for over 35 years. When I road a Ducati, I didn’t wine that the Triumph group wouldn’t let me join Or the BSA group for that matter. Is H.O.G. for everybody? No. I remember when I started a chapter years ago I was given the ok to not let whiners join. We had a great bunch of people with 90% involvement. So for all you people that think HOG is not for you. You are absolutely right. Go back and hang out at the donut shop.
But if you are into meeting some of the greatest people I have ever met? Maybe go for some great rides. And make some life long memories and friends. Come on over, you are more than welcome.

Well I am a member of HOG, not a local chapter though. I've been wanting to get into a local for a lil' while, and after reading your post I think I may go down to the dealer today and sign up. I'm new to Alabama, and don't really know anyone so I figure this will be a good way to meet some people to ride with!

For those who don't like HOG, fine. Move along and do the things that you DO like to do. I've never understood why people want to spend their time telling other people what they should or shouldn't enjoy.
For me, HOG has been a real plus. I've met some good folks and had some good times. I'm sorry if your experience has been different. Maybe HOG isn't for you. Maybe if you got involved, you could make it a better experience for yourself and for others.
Either way, you decide what works for you, I'll decide what works for me and hopefully, we can still be friends.

Some dealers use to make it very injoyable to be a member some don't . You guy's are luckly you have a good one chapter.
hdbikerperson ,you know part of the reason your chapter was good ,,,it had peole that cared and put someing in to it. Most now only do the minimum that hd wants ,nothing to make a great. I have seen both end of the HOG. It is not just the riders with hog you still have the company and the dealer involed and thats what makes a chapter great now a days. Other wise it just a ride gride only.

Doctor,
I don't remember how long it took to get my Nation membership info. I'd suggest you follow up with them by phone - 1-800-258-2464. Their hours are 8 - 4:30, M - F, Central Time

HOG is not for me,..... but why would I have to choose a donut shop?
Are you sayin' that it's HOG or sissy something? LMAO! Me thinks the HOGgers would be more apt to hang at the Donut shop and trade stories about which HD clothing looks better on who.

I've met some HOG people and they were nice. I am not a member cause I don't like joining things personally.
Actually, I am a member of BOOBS. "Brotherhood of Old Bikers"
We have lots of stuff to talk about but, it eventually gets back to talking about BOOBs

Easy now. Remember, this is a thread whining about whiners.

Far too many people have control issues. They're so used to controlling their lives and people in them, they try to extend that control to people and groups they don't even know.
My favorite response to these situations is "Why do you feel your opinion matters to me or has any effect on my life?". Which is usually met with a "deer in headlights" reaction.
