H.O.G. 25th Anniversary
Was it all that bad? We seen the all the problems you would think anyone would have, big crowd, top dollar drinks, long food line, porta pots? but knowing it could be like this we pack are own waters, brought in subs from subway, used the johns inside Fridays and worked with the crowd. We got there at 11am, visited some venders got some shirts, patches new keys made for the bike. Watched Joan Jett, Sugarland and decided to leave early. No traffic in or out. I thought it was ok.......
But was Hog Island ment to be a joke?

No joke but probably should have been...
I agree that HOG Island was a joke, they spent more time making sure folks had HOG cards than making sure it was worth visiting. The only reason it existed it seems to me was to get folks to spend money on food, drink or the limited swag they had on hand.

HOG Island could have been soooooo much more. It was a beer tent and souvenir stand. However, having attended a few of these now, Harley learns and will improve. My suggestions? A membership service area, HOG Tales staff, meet and greet for HD execs, new Screamin Eagle bikes, new accessories, Museum membership desk, HOG regional rep meet and greet, more when I think of them!

Hog 25 was a blast
Had a great time.
Yeah the bathrooms sucked, lines were to long, hot as hell and you couldn't even get in or out of the main stage, but we made the best of it. Made us wiser for the rest of the weekend. Brought our own drinks, rode in shorts, and eat before we got there. Awesome time.
I'd put some pix up if I didn't have to resize them to penny size.

Had a good time. Wife did first long trip riding her 05 XL1200 C. 900+ miles each way.
For the most part it was a great trip and the Springsteen concert was one of the best. But the people who managed the concert really have a lot to learn. I don't think HD managed the concerts themselves. If they did, I am glad the build motorcycles better than running the concerts.
Spent more money on shirts than anything else. Mine plus the long list of shirts for friends.
$6.00 for a beer, we didn't drink many of those.

There was a group of us who went to Milwaukee for the 105th and 25th celebration and what a fun time we all had. My Son and Daughter-in-law Leah followed us up in our cage, and at every stop he would talk with his mom and tell how proud he was of her for riding her own all the way to Milwaukee. He told me he was ready for me to help him get on a Harley and teach him to ride. His dream bike is a Fat Boy. I told him I would talk with our Dealer and see what we could do to get him going. Finally my son wanted a Harley instead of that other brand bike. We had a nice ride to Racine where our rooms were. Thursday the group went to Miller Park for Club HOG's 25th party, we saw stunt riding by Bubba Blackwell, and another group who did pyramids and other stunts, there was a cool bike show with some awesome bikes, a nice array of vendors, with food and drink. We camped out at a table by the sound stage and took turns wondering about, we saw the Billy Bob Thornton Band, who was really good, we closed out the New York Stock Exchange with Willie G., We watched Sugarland perform and at 8:30 had the opening ceremonies, during one of the intermissions my son and I went to go thru the vendors tents when two girls who were selling raffle tickets for a 2009 Fat Boy with the 25th Anniversary Logos on it, so I bought 5 for twenty dollars and gave the tickets to my wife Debbie and my Daughter-In-Law Leah to fill out and had them put my son's name on them, at 8:30 Jim McCaslin and the MDA Spokesperson a Luke Christy talked a little about MDA and the amount of money raised by HD, so far over 6 million dollars, and then they announced the winner of the raffle, Luke Christy said he really liked the name on the ticket because it was the same as his first name, then he said the winner is Luke Hickam from Columbia, Missouri, my son won the Bike, we were hoarse for two days from all the screaming and yelling we did, we are still in shock from all this, we ended the night watching Kid Rock perform, what a great day that was, my son who is 25 won a 25th edition Bike.

That is simply amazing, congrats to your son!
This is the 3rd story about winning a bike that I have heard this week but yours is the first where the winner actually wanted the bike!
What a great connection you and your son will have to his new ride, enjoy and safe riding!
